I’m sure by now, you’ve noticed I’ve been a little quiet. Although I enjoy writing and sharing self-care tips with readers, I found myself going against everything I would encourage readers to do.
If I can be honest with you, last year I wasted a lot of time focusing on everyone’s priorities and neglected my own. At the end of the year, I realized I didn’t accomplish nearly half the goals I set for myself and decided to take a break.
From this hiatus, I was able to reap the rewards of self-care, reconnect with my art and get clarity on my future. When I chose to focus on myself, I even slept better at night. During my quiet time, I heard myself think, cleared the space in my head and transferred a lot of my thoughts and feelings to canvas.
Those feelings turned into a body of artwork that lead to my first art show. In the midst of my selfishness, others also had something to gain; they had a chance to experience my art and were encouraged to live their best life ever!

From this I learned, it’s okay to pause for a moment and focus on reconnecting with yourself. When we take a moment to shift gears, refocus and spend time alone, we find the freedom to behave in our best interest, with fewer distractions and gain more positive results.
I also learned all that you will ever be or accomplish hinges on how you choose to turn your thoughts into action.
Now that I got that out the way, I look forward to reconnecting with you. Until then, take a moment to act on one thing you promised you would do by the end of the year. It may change your whole life.
